Italy shares its northern, Alpine boundary with France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. The land known as Italy today has been the cradle of European cultures and peoples, such as the Etruscans and the Romans. Italy's capital is Rome.
Italy is the fifth country that receives more tourists in the world and Rome is the third most visited city in the European Union, [8] being consistently rated as one of the most beautiful ancient cities in the world. [9] Venice is also considered the city's most beautiful world.
There are Italian names, great artists and geniuses as Dante, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Enrico Fermi.
The country has a high level of public education, labor high, [21] high level of charity, [22] besides being a globalized country
The climate of Italy is highly diverse and can be far from the stereotypical Mediterranean climate, depending on location. Most of the inland northern regions of Italy, have a continental climate often classified as humid subtropical (Köppen climate classification Cfa). The coastal areas of Liguria and most of the peninsula south of Florence generally fit the Mediterranean stereotype (Köppen climate classification Csa). Conditions on peninsular coastal areas can be very different from the interior's higher ground and valleys, particularly during the winter months when the higher altitudes tend to be cold, wet, and often snowy. The coastal regions have mild winters and warm and generally dry summers, although lowland valleys can be quite hot in summer.
The official language is Italian.

A little about one of the main tourist attractions:
O COLISEU
The Coliseum was built during the Roman Empire, between 70 and 80 of our era, during the governments of the emperors Vespasian and Domitian.
It is located in Rome (the capital of Italy).
This amphitheater was used as a stage for gladiator fights, shows with wild animals and even naval battles, because the Coliseum had a system that turned the arena into a large lake.
In its construction was used marble, tile, tuff and travertine stone.
Could cater for up to ninety thousand spectators.
Was damaged by an earthquake in the early fifth century and later restored. In the thirteenth century, was used as a military fortress. Between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries was the target of robbers, who led much of the valuable materials of construction.
In 2007 he was elected as one of New Seven Wonders of the World.
